Spectacular D-day in super HD and color: Commemorating 80 years of D-day, 6 June 1944 - 6 June 2024
One of the most memorable and spectacular events of World War 2 was D-day, the allied operation aimed at defeating the Germans and ending their hegemony, thus liberating north-west Europe.
This video shows these historic events in stunning color (colorized) and in the highest possible full HD quality that you have ever seen!
The invasion of Nazi-occupied France was codenamed Operation OVERLORD and took place on Tuesday 6 June 1944. Originally it was planned for the 5th of June but was delayed because of poor weather. A severe storm battered the Normandy coast, even making the German commander in charge of defending the North French coast, Erwin Rommel, believe that an attack would be highly...

This is splendedly enhanced and colorized footage from two fragments of Benjamin Brodsky’s ten-reel film documentary, showing Peking in the 1910s. It is highly interesting material as it shows what China really was like over a century ago in 1917. It should be noted that the film was shot only about 16 years after the ending of the boxer uprising from 1899 to 1901 and 6 years after the Chinese ...

We begin with a stunning birdseye view of old Amsterdam in the 1920's. The area surrounding Amsterdam's central station has for long been a hub that attracts many tourists. The station was designed by architect Pierre Kuypers and built between 1881 and 1889. Its style is very similar to the Rijksmuseum, also designed by this architect. In front of the station near the water we see the Noordholl...

We held the USSR and descendant states in high esteem and were in awe of their sacrifice before meeting these people, but this experience soured that nicely.
